After a two-week effort to shift Santa Barbara Airport’s older terminal 180 feet from its former location to where it now sits — and after months of work to restore it to its original form — dozens gathered to officially reopen the historic building during a well-attended ribbon-cutting ceremony on 3/20. The airport’s new terminal, to be named after former Santa Barbara mayor and judge John T. Rickard, was opened in 2011 and sees around 700,000 passengers pass through its doors a year.
