Although they are often overlooked in shelters, old dogs often have unrivaled warmth and wisdom about them. Just ask anyone who has rescued a senior canine. And while giving an aging dog a happy, loving home is beneficial to the pooch, there are often unexpected rewards for the adopter. Author Karen Simondet knows this and so has put together the Spartacus Project, a book-in-the-works filled with submitted stories about senior doggies and the value they have brought to their owners. Simondet is still accepting true-life tales for her compilation, so write up your ode to a senior doggie and send it in. Send submissions via email to TheSpartacusProject@yahoo.com by December 31, 2013. For more information and guidelines, visit http://www.spartacusproject.com.
