Planners to Study Buildings for Seismic Risks
County planners will soon study the seismic health of Santa Barbara buildings and present the Board of Supervisors with recommendations on how to address possible risks. Recently, the California Seismic Safety Commission held one of its regular meetings in Santa Barbara, where leaders spoke about how the state agency will help smaller jurisdictions gird against earthquake damage. The types of buildings to be analyzed are those with brick and/or stone chimneys, mobile homes, and those with underground parking.
