Halloween preparations in some areas of Goleta once again include fending off Isla Vista revelers, though last year’s turnout was significantly smaller and quieter than years past. A community meeting on the actions the city is taking will be held Thursday, October 15, at Goleta City Hall (130 Cremona Dr.) from 6-7 p.m. Included in the discussion is the resident-only parking in University 1 and University 2 neighborhoods, which are bordered by Cannon Green Drive and Storke Road, and by Hollister Avenue and Whittier Drive.

Permits will be required to park on streets in the area between 7 p.m.-7 a.m., Friday-Sunday, October 30-November 1. Vehicles without parking permits will be towed. Each household will be mailed two permits by October 26, and residents can call the city’s Neighborhood Services Department at (805) 961-7556 if they need a permit. Residents of neighborhoods outside the zone who are impacted by I.V.’s Halloween may contact the city at neighborhoodservices@cityofgoleta.org.
