At approximately 1:10 a.m. Saturday morning, a 27-year-old female Carpinteria resident was killed when her 2000 Toyota Sienna collided with two parked semi trucks and the center guardrail while traveling southbound on Highway 101 near Evans Avenue in Santa Barbara.

Witnesses reported that the driver’s car drifted from the right lane off the roadway, hit the left side of a Peterbilt semi truck trailer parked along the right shoulder, and continued south before hitting the left rear of another Peterbilt semi truck parked just ahead of the first collision, according to a prepared statement from the CHP. The driver’s Toyota Sienna spun clockwise across the highway and collided into the center metal guardrail.

The driver was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and died due to injuries from the crash.
