Man Crashes into Tree on San Antonio Creek Road

An early morning car accident Thursday sent a 22-year-old driver to Cottage Hospital with major head injuries. Emmanuel Sierra and Constantine Papazacharioudakis, 21, were driving down San Antonio Creek Road at a high speed around 2:15 a.m. when Sierra attempted to pass on the left on a curve, apparently lost control of his 2001 BMW 325i, and crashed into a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). County Fire responded to the accident near Via Orquidia and extricated Sierra from the car using heavy equipment. The CHP reported Papazacharioudakis was not injured. Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the accident; the CHP investigation is ongoing.
