Washington Elementary was briefly put on lockdown this morning after three or four suspects from a nearby non-injury hit-and-run accident fled their vehicle and cut through school grounds, according to Santa Barbara Police Department Sgt. Josh Morten. Lockdown was lifted after officers searched the campus and determined it safe. Morton said police are investigating the abandoned vehicle and continue their search for the suspects.
