The Goleta Water District announced a water-saving neighborhood block leader program, to be funded by a federal Bureau of Reclamation grant. The block leaders are to be provided with recommended irrigation schedules, estimations of monetary savings with increased efficiency, water-efficient garden hose nozzles to give to their neighbors, and recommendations for water-saving plants, devices, and landscape designs.
