Peter Kornbluth’s letter (“They Hold These Truths”, 2/25/10) touched upon a few interesting observations. He points out that the Democrats need to rediscover their roots. Perhaps they should also articulate that their swift action to implement President Obama’s stimulus package which (although far from perfect) helped prevent the “Great Republican Depression.” Instead, we are now enduring the current “Republican Recession,” which is probably not too bad considering how (in)effectively the last administration managed our nation’s welfare.—Mark Kram
