I was surprised by the bands chosen by the people of Santa Barbara and the Indy. Where are the women rock musicians in these selections (besides the Mutineers’ drummer/vocalist)? There are many talented female singers and musicians in this town; it seems like the Battle of the Bands is unbalanced in tipping toward the white-boy category. I have nothing against these bands, or against men (I happen to be one myself), but, seriously, this is 2012. Diversity in these kinds of competitions is good, and a local female rock n’ roller’s perspective would have sufficed.
