Sycamore Canyon Road Reopens

Sycamore Canyon Road reopened this week to regular motorists, Caltrans officials announced. The section of State Route 144 near Ranchito Vista Road and south of Parma Park had been closed off and on since 2005 after a landslide closed the portion of the popular thoroughfare that links the City of Santa Barbara and Montecito. Crews have in that time made repairs to the surrounding hillsides and opened the roadway periodically to emergency vehicles during periods of fire-prone weather.
