At the request of Mission Canyon residents, the officials in charge of fighting the Zaca Fire will be holding an informational meeting. The meeting is tonight, Friday, August 10, at 6 p.m. in the Museum of Natural History’s Fleischman Auditorium at 2559 Puesta del Sol Road.

The officials will be discussing the possible path of the fire and the impacts to the Mission Canyon area if it were to crest the ridgeline of the Santa Ynez Mountains. (As of this writing, fire crews seemed pretty confident that was not going to happen, yet the weekend’s winds will be the deciding factor.) The firefighters will also discuss the logistics of an evacuation, should that become a reality. They will also answer questions from the public.
