City Issues Moratorium on New Pot Dispensaries

The Santa Barbara City Council issued an immediate moratorium, effective 8/14, on any new medical marijuana dispensaries during the next six months, while the city drafts regulations to address location, hours of operation, loitering, and other concerns raised by neighbors and potential neighbors of the businesses. Local dispensary owners themselves had encouraged the moratorium.
