The Lowdown: Cell phones. Love ’em or hate ’em, they have become one of the necessities of contemporary life. The trouble is, it seems like every week the technology changes – more and more models now offer more and more functions, creating more and more confusion. How do you keep up with what gadget guru Don Lubach calls the “Byzantine complexity of a yet-to-mature industry?” Well, “Secrets of Cell Phones” is a two-hour, one-day class that was created to give you answers to that question.

“As the instructor of this course, my goal is to lead the class to victory over a very confusing and overly complex – but essential – technology.” -Don Lubach

Lubach and Bob Cohan have gathered the best cell-phone experts in Santa Barbara County to talk to you about everything from selecting the phone that is right for you to avoiding surprises on your phone bill. They will also cover:

*Managing your phone’s battery

*The pros and cons of family plans

*How to keep costs to a minimum

*The upside of the no-contract phone

*The new, senior-centric “Jitterbug” phone

*What’s all this about the iPhone?

*Things your phone vendor can do for you that may surprise you.

If you’ve never had a cell phone and are finally thinking about taking the plunge, or if you need to upgrade your existing model but don’t know how to choose the one that will best suit your needs, this is the class for you.
