New Department Head Selected

Ann Detrick will take over as the new head of Santa Barbara County’s Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services Department, starting on 1/2/08. She currently serves as deputy commissioner for the State of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, in Boston, helping to oversee three state hospitals and services for more than 27,000 clients annually. She holds a doctorate in social psychology from the University of Massachusetts. Detrick is to fill the vacancy left by Dr. James Broderick, who retired in March.
