Sailboat Destroyed by Fire

Fire destroyed a 35-foot sailboat in Marina 1 of the Santa Barbara Harbor on the morning of 1/6. Investigating officials are calling the destruction of Rob Kirkcaldie’s vessel “suspicious.” Despite an inferno that shot flames more than 20 feet in the air, the fire did not damage nearby boats. City Fire credits the quick response from Harbor Patrol and efforts by other boat owners as being fundamental in minimizing the damage.
