Hillary Clinton

Democratic presidential candidate and New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is coming to Santa Barbara tomorrow. While details are still being worked out, we do know that she will be holding a rally at UCSB tomorrow, 6:45-8:45 p.m. The free event will take place at the UCSB Recreation Center on campus. Parking is available at the corner of Mesa and Ocean Roads. “Come join Senator Hillary Clinton at a rally as she discusses issues important to California,” reads an announcement on the candidate’s website. “With the California primary election only weeks away, it’s time to make history and ensure California remains Clinton Country!”

Clinton is in a hard-fought battle with Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards for the Democratic nomination. Obama won the Iowa caucus, while Clinton, despite polling before the vote suggesting otherwise, took New Hampshire. Saturday will be the third contest, in Nevada.

Clinton is the third democratic candidate to visit the area, following visits from Obama and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich. Republican presidential candidate and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani had twice campaigned or appeared at fundraising events in Santa Barbara.

KCSB will broadcast the entire rally live on 91.9 FM and also webcast it at kcsb.org.
