California State Senator Abel Maldonado- whose 15th Senate District includes Santa Maria, Guadalupe, and Orcutt and stretches as far north as Monterey County-was scheduled to speak on 9/3 at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis. Prior to his address, Maldonado said he was pleased to represent Latino Republicans at the event and would speak on their behalf. He is the highest-ranking Latino Republican in the California State Senate.
