According to officials from the City of Goleta, the rain that began yesterday afternoon has not resulted in flooding, debris flows, or other negative impacts in Goleta. “We are pleased to report that our streams are flowing well and no problems have been reported,” said Michelle Greene, administrative services director and acting city manager, in a press release. The city’s Community Services Department will have staff on duty during the Thanksgiving holiday to monitor creeks and culverts for potential flooding.

In the event of a weather-related emergency, the city will alert area residents using Goleta City Alert – its reverse 911 system. For nonemergency Public Works concerns, call (805) 961-7570 to leave a message. Sandbags may be obtained at County Fire Station 11, located on Stroke Road, and Station 14, which is on Los Carneros Road north of Highway 101.
