Tenzin Gyatso

FROM DHARAMSALA TO SANTA BARBARA: He’s got the sweet face and hearty chuckle of a little boy, but he’s no baby; Tenzin Gyatso has been the spiritual and political leader of Tibet since he was 15 years old. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is revered by many, reviled by some, and watched by the world for his reactions to the ongoing oppression of his people by Beijing. Tomorrow, Friday, April 24, the exiled ruler will make his fourth visit to UCSB to give two sold-out talks at the Events Center: The Nature of Mind at 9:30 a.m., and Ethics for Our Time at 2 p.m. For those who didn’t manage to snag tickets, KCSB radio will broadcast both speeches live; tune in to 91.9 FM or kcsb.org.
