Domestic Violence

Sadly, domestic violence is still a major problem in this country. Witness the recent allegations against singer Chris Brown for assaulting his girlfriend, Rihanna. In an effort to aid the many Santa Barbara women who also suffer at the hand of a loved one, Domestic Violence Solutions of S.B. and St. Vincent’s are holding a day of assembling “Care Kits.” Women and girls (must be age 10 or older) are welcome to lend a hand in putting together these packages, which will then be delivered by DVS and St. Vincent’s to the women in their programs. In addition to putting together the kits, which will include everyday items, there will be live entertainment and refreshments. The event takes place Thursday, June 11, from 5-7 p.m. at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in La Cumbre Plaza. For more information, call 642-0605.
