The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department’s Gang Unit arrested four people in Orcutt and Los Alamos on Thursday morning during routine compliance checks. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department, the unit arrested Mark Dunn, 47, for possession of a knife, which violated the terms of his parole. Additionally, they arrested Steven Milner, Shannan Hartzog, and Sarah Jean Siegrist for suspected use of controlled substances. As of Friday, the substance was unknown. According to George Gingras, the Station Commander for the Santa Maria Sheriff’s Station, the substance is suspected to be methamphetamine, but that won’t be known for certain until it is tested. Gingras also said it is not known whether the individuals are affiliated with a gang, but added that it is not unusual for the gang unit to deal with parole checks such as this. Dunn, Milner, and Hartzog were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail. Siegrist was released after being cited.
