Alleged “Boss” Vandal Arrested
Police Say Man Vandalized Police Station While in Custody
Santa Barbara police have arrested an 18-year-old county resident this week on graffiti charges. According to a report by police spokesperson Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte, officers were on patrol in the area of Modoc Road and Mission Street on Tuesday, July 28, when they noticed James Fuller walking along the sidewalk. As the officers made a U-turn in an attempt to contact Fuller, he allegedly began to run, dropping a shopping bag filled with spray paint cans. An officer chased Fuller for a few blocks, before he finally caught up to him.
Upon arresting Fuller, officers allegedly noticed paint on his fingertips. They then searched the area for graffiti and found multiple telephone poles with “BOSS” sprayed painted on them. According to Duarte’s report of the incident, later, at the police station, Fuller continued vandalizing by carving “BS” into the wooded area of an interview room.
Fuller was booked in the county jail for resisting or delaying arrest and possession of spray paint with the intent to commit vandalism.
