I want to thank you for publishing the excellent “Twin Towers, Twin Myths?”cover story, and also “The Elements of a Great Scientific and Technical Dispute.”
It renews a degree of hope and faith in American news media that at least some publications have the courage, concern, and foresight to present a balanced description of some of the events of 9/11, events which continue to reverberate terribly here in America and around the world.
It seems the vast majority of mainstream media is unwilling to broach any question of the official story of 9/11. The few that do, broach it in a manner that is condescending and dismissive towards alternative possibilities.
Considering the Bush administration clearly lied about so many things–from Iraq’s involvement in 9/11, to WMDs, to illegal spying on Americans, to torture, etc.–why is it so hard for so many to question the official account of 9/11? Even most members of the 9/11 Commission have questioned the administration’s and military’s accounts, especially after tapes came out proving many of the accounts were lies.
Here it is eight years later and the FBI, tasked with building a case against Osama Bin Laden, still does not include 9/11 on his Most Wanted Terrorist poster.
I hope other publications will follow your lead and be our watchdogs–asking hard questions about vital events and not just being lapdogs or mouthpieces to those in authority.
