THE INDY DOES JAMAICA: Every year after the holidays, wine buyer Adam Strachan heads off into the world for a long vacation, and this past January, he spent 11 days driving around the island of Jamaica. Along with his wife, hiking boots, and suitcase, Strachan — who’s lived in Santa Barbara since he transferred to UCSB in 1985 — brought a copy of The Independent, seen here in a coffee estate atop the rainy Blue Mountains. “It was a cloudy, misty day, so there wasn’t much to see outside,” said Strachan, who estimates he’s been reading The Indy for 20-plus years. “But owner Dorothy Twyman was a supreme host and walked us around the coffee estate during our three-hour visit.” Do you have a shot from somewhere in the world with a copy of The Independent?
