Youth Cinemedia, the longtime program that takes at-risk Santa Barbara youth and trains them to be professional filmmakers, has been officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization, and is currently forming a board of directors. A recent cruise on the Channel Cat raised nearly $6,000, which will be used to buy camera equipment, pay for field trips, and support the “One Camera, One Planet, One Vision” environmental filmmaking course.
