Carp Man Arrested for Child Molestation
Knew Family of Victims
Santa Barbara Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Carpinteria man yesterday morning accused of inappropriately touching and kissing two young girls.
On Friday, October 1, patrol deputies in Carpinteria were informed that Juan John “Rocky” Ramirez had molested the two girls, ages four and six.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Drew Sugars said that the victim’s family knew of Ramirez before the incident.
“He’s not a stranger that came out of nowhere,” Sugars said. “There was a connection there.”
Ramirez, 56, was taken into custody at his home in Carpinteria yesterday morning. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for felony child molestation with bail set at $250,000.
