Choral Society Holiday Concert, December 10
Proceeds gathered to benefit Friends of the Chairs and scholarships
The public is invited to a very special “Evening of Wassail and Carols” concert event by the renowned Santa Barbara Choral Society on Friday, December 10 at 8pm at Hahn Hall located at the Music Academy of the West. The Society will perform the beautiful “Ceremony of Carols” by English composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976); as well as carols from around the world plus a set of traditional carols arranged by Mack Wilbert.
Doors will open at 6:30pm for seating and a pre-party event, when the Music Academy of the West will be transformed into a festive open-air village of food and drink with strolling carols to set the holiday mood, inviting all to sing along.
Single tickets are $75 each and $50 each for 2 or more tickets. Proceeds from this event will help to fund the Choral Society’s Friends of Chairs, to seat soloists and orchestra for season performances; the 2010 Tour Scholarship Fund, to send deserving young singers on next summer’s performance tour abroad; and the Ticket Scholarship Fund to provide concert tickets to those in need.
The Santa Barbara Choral Society serves the public by performing choral music at the highest level and fostering musical development and appreciation within the Santa Barbara community. For more information contact the Santa Barbara Choral Society at (805) 965-6577 or visit online.
