Celebrate Las Posadas in Santa Barbara This Weekend
Experience how S.B.’s earliest Spanish and Mexican residents celebrated the holiday season with food and musical festivities this holiday season at Una Noche de Las Posadas, a performance to be held at at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park (123 E. Canon Perdido St.) on Friday, December 17, beginning at 7 p.m. Las Posadas (“The Inns”) is a special reenactment of the biblical account of Joseph and Mary’s search for shelter in Bethlehem—and will be presented this week in the same traditional fashion as it was celebrated in early California and as it is still observed today throughout Mexico and South America.
