Suspect Arrested for 28 Burglaries
Accused of Ventura and Santa Barbara County Rural Crimes
Jose Alexander Dominguez thought he was free after posting bail at Ventura County Jail on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. As he was leaving, a Rural Crimes deputy from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s office arrested him — this time on behalf of Santa Barbara County.
According to spokesperson Drew Sugars for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, Dominguez and some of his cohorts are suspected in nearly 50 agricultural crimes in Ventura County, accused of stealing tools and other agricultural equipment from work sites.
Dominquez is suspected for 28 similar crimes throughout Santa Barbara County.
Sugars announced that Dominguez faces 28 counts of conspiracy and felony burglary. He is currently in Santa Barbara County Jail being held on a no-bail immigration hold.
Both Ventura County and Santa Barbara County agencies are searching for Wilfredo Jimenez of Los Angeles who is also suspected of similar crimes.
