Bank of America Robber Arrested
Tip from Public Led to Capture
A press release by the Santa Barbara Police Department states that a suspect has been arrested in conjunction with a bank robbery on January 7 that occurred at the Bank of America located at 3790 State Street at approximately 9 a.m. Robert Haig Royal, 33, was arrested after surveillance photos taken were released to the public, and a witness stepped forward attesting that the photos looked like Royal.
Following an investigation by the Santa Barbara detectives, Royal was stopped at a traffic light and arrested for parole violation and robbery by the Ventura Police Department. Authorities found $7,848 in cash on Royal. Around $9,000 was taken from Bank of America.
