Young America’s Foundation is proud to announce that Vice President Dick Cheney will be the keynote speaker at our Reagan 100 Birthday Celebration Weekend, February 4 and 5. The Vice President will speak at Young America’s Foundation’s Reagan 100 Dinner Banquet on Saturday, February 5 at the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, California.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s birth, Vice President Cheney will not only reflect on President Reagan’s lasting accomplishments but will also discuss our nation’s upcoming public policy battles and how President Reagan’s values and ideas will inspire the next generation of conservative leaders.

This special event is open to select members of the press who make reservations and is part of Young America’s Foundation’s Reagan 100: Freedom’s Future initiative, celebrating leadership of President Reagan and how important his vision is the future of freedom in our country. During the birthday weekend, select members of the press will be welcomed to tour the Ranch where President Reagan spent nearly a year of his presidency and to observe the birthday weekend festivities.

Vice President Cheney has had a long and distinguished career. He served as the 46th Vice President of the United States under President George W. Bush, secretary of defense under President George H.W. Bush, minority whip in the U.S. House of Representatives, and White House chief of staff under President Gerald Ford.

Ron Robinson, president of Young America’s Foundation, said, “I can think of no one more qualified or appropriate to address a crowd of current and future conservative leaders than Vice President Cheney. We are honored to host him for our Reagan 100 celebrations, and with his help, we will surely inspire future generations to continue the Reagan Revolution into 2011 and beyond.”

Also during the Reagan 100 Birthday Celebration Weekend, Young America’s Foundation will release its long-awaited film about the Reagan Ranch, Still Point in a Turning World. The film is student focused, and is intended to introduce young people to Reagan’s ideas and why the Ranch was so important to him. In 1998, Young America’s Foundation saved the Reagan Ranch, and with the Reagan Ranch Center in downtown Santa Barbara, uses it to educate young people about Reagan’s ideas. This film screening is open to the press.

This special event is part of Young America’s Foundation’s Reagan 100: Freedom’s Future initiative. Throughout the Reagan 100 year the Foundation will hold special events on college campuses across America, at the Reagan Ranch, the Reagan Ranch Center and at other venues to commemorate the President’s 100th birthday.
