Annual Meeting February 7 for Ojai Center for the Arts
Valley Residents are Invited to Attend for Updates and Officer Elections
Ojai Valley residents are invited to attend the Ojai Center for the Arts annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, 113 S. Montgomery.
Current Board Members will update the community on last year’s progress, a vote will be held to elect officers for 2011, and two Lifetime Membership Awards will be given for outstanding service.
The Center, a local gem established in1939, offers seven branches: art, theater, music, literary, photography, dance, and film, which support a mission of access to the arts on a local level. The nonprofit offers monthly art and photography exhibits, eight annual theater productions, chamber music concerts, literary events and a variety of classes and workshops in the visual and performing arts.
The Arts Center is able to give regular folk a chance to take part in the arts because of its officers and volunteers who keep the doors open. This year’s officers up for election or re-election are: President, Secretary, Development, and Special Events. Nominations will also be taken from the floor.
Lifetime membership honors will go to Dance Branch Chair Karin Dron and Film Branch Chair Steve Grumette. Dron, an active member for over 20 years, has held regular dance events that draw attendees from Santa Barbara and L.A. as well as Ojai. Grumette has been an active member of the Theater Branch and is now chair of the newly organized Film Branch.
The nonprofit center invites interested citizens to attend the open meeting. For additional Information visit the Center websiteor call 646-0117.
