While Santa Barbara gets its “Film Feast” on as part of California Restaurant Month, the Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Association (SYVVA) is sponsoring the first Santa Ynez Valley Restaurant Week through Saturday, January 29. Sixteen restaurants in Buellton, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Solvang will cook up special three-course menus for just $20.11. Times and menus vary, so be sure to reserve, but you might be able to indulge in something like what the Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe is offering: a first of arugula salad or soup de jour; a second of a roasted chicken breast with braised greens, whipped potato, radishes, tarragon chicken jus or braised short ribs “pot roast” with glazed winter vegetables, whipped potato, or seasonally-inspired gnocchi; and then a dessert of seasonal bread pudding with vanilla cardamom sauce. Other fine restaurants partaking include Hitching Post II, Hadsten House, Root 246, and Mirabelle. See SantaYnezValleyVisit.com.
