The street repair projects include five phases: Phase 1 – Repair of failed road sections (completed last fall); Phase 2 – Removal of vegetation from the cracks in the road; Phase 3 – Filling of cracks with crack seal; Phase 4 – Applying a layer of emulsion and chips; and Phase 5 – Applying seal coat over the chips.

Three days prior to the start of all phases, the contractor will be posting door hangers in the affected areas. “No Parking” signs will also be posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the work. The general hours of operation will be between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., during which times the

City requests that you not park on the street. Any vehicle that remains on the street where no parking has been posted may be ticketed and towed. During Phases 4 and 5, above, access to may be interrupted for approximately four hours while the emulsion or seal coat dries.

This project is partially funded by Measure A. Measure A was passed by the voters of Santa Barbara County in November 2009 to improve transportation infrastructure in the county. The City of Goleta uses its share of Measure A Funds for the repair and maintenance of City streets and sidewalks.
