Cottage Children’s Hospital Celebrates Miracles With 2012 Care for Kids Benefit
This is the second year that the annual fundraising event for Cottage Children’s Hospital will be broadcast for two days on local radio on K-Lite 101.7 FM and its sister Spanish station Radio Bronco 107.7 FM. The radio broadcast on Tuesday and Wednesday May 1 and 2 is from 6 am to 6 pm on K-Lite and 11 am to 6 pm on Radio Bronco.
Television station KEYT-Channel 3 will also devote its morning newscast from 5 am to 7 am and evening news from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, May 1 to the Care for Kids benefit.
The radio and TV broadcasts will showcase a number of touching stories about local children and teens who were treated by the doctors and nurses at Cottage Children’s Hospital. The broad range of services and advanced technology available at the hospital are made possible through community donations.
All of the money raised during the Care for Kids event will go directly to Cottage Children’s Hospital to fulfill its mission of serving the children on the Central Coast and surrounding communities.
Cottage Children’s Hospital provides more than $10 million in care to those who are uninsured or underinsured.
Donations can be made to Cottage Children’s Hospital by phone, online, and at various participating businesses in Santa Barbara County.
Paper “Miracle Balloons” are being sold at registers at Rite Aid, and as of May 1 will also be sold at Blenders in the Grass, Costco and Walmart.

Three former patients — Adrian Perez, Jorden Tuthill and Lauren Maslowski – are participating in the Cottage Kids Challenge, a social media fundraising effort.
