Californian Hotel Demolition Continues

Demolition on lower State Street’s historic Californian Hotel continues on schedule. The past is prologue to the present as the hotel, which opened one week before the 1925 earthquake, is being razed due to seismic safety concerns. The façade will be kept intact and, along with two side walls, should be the only elements of the hotel left standing by the end of July. It is slated to morph into the oft-delayed La Entrada timeshares project owned by Next Century Associates of L.A.
