Ms. Tiffney, writing as ‘Robin Winter’, worked with Toni since October 2010 on her novel “Night Must Wait,” the 1960’s story of four American women friends who leave the states to pursue their careers in Nigeria, only to find themselves caught up in the Nigerian Civil War. The war incites a civil war between them, and the consequences don’t stop at murder.

“I moved Lopopolo Literary Management to Santa Barbara to discover new, talented writers,” said Ms. Lopopolo, a California native. “I worked in my agency on the East Coast for twenty years but visited Santa Barbara to participate in the Santa Barbara Writers’ Conference, and to hold fiction workshops and bootcamps with client Shelly Lowenkopf. Because of the terrific writing community I found here, I decided to move my agency to this wonderful city. With the sale of Robin’s novel and the talented writers I’ve found in the area, I’m feeling on top of the world.”

Ms. Tiffney is best known in Santa Barbara as Robin Gowen, a plein air landscape painter represented by Sullivan Goss Gallery. When a child, Robin lived with her family in different areas of Nigeria, returning after college to teach English for a year. She drew on her experiences for this novel.

“Night Must Wait” was purchased by publisher Cheryl Tardif for Imajin Books of Edmonton, Canada. Pub date is planned for October 2012. For more information on Lopopolo Literary Management, visit our website.
