Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver Struggle to Sell Carpinteria Ranch
Shriver Reportedly Thinks the 25-Acre Property Has a 'Bad Vibe'
Arnold Schwarzenegger and ex-wife Maria Shriver bought their 25-acre Rancho Monte Alegre property in Carpinteria for $4.7 million in 2008. But now, with an asking price of $4.5 million, they just can’t seem to unload it.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Shriver said the house has a “bad vibe.” She filed for divorce from her movie star and former state governor husband in July 2011 after it was revealed Schwarzenegger fathered a son 14 years earlier with a household staff member. The same Times article states Shriver is reportedly willing to “take a loss” on the Carpinteria property.
Pictures of the 1915 Santa Monica Road lot published by Radar Online show a large, nearly 100-year-old Craftsman-style “barn” with a studio and apartment. The property also boasts, according to its online sales listing, two ponds, ocean views, and access to riding trails.
