Cottage Hospital Names New Member to Board of Directors
A resident of Solvang since 2006, Nagler is a retired health care executive with extensive experience in non-profits. He achieved his Bachelors degree in history from Southern Illinois University and did graduate work in finance at New York University.
Nagler is immediate past-president of the Los Olivos Rotary Club; and currently serves on the board of the Valley Foundation, The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County, Arts Outreach and the Wildling Museum. He previously served on the board of the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix as well as Transitions Foundation of Guatemala, which makes wheelchairs for those in need. Nagler and his wife Janice, a retired office manager, have two adult sons, Christian and Kevin. Chester remarked, “We are so fortunate to have Rich join the board. He is passionate about this community and supporting the hospitals mission of medical excellence close to home.”
The Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and enhance a valuable community asset by providing financial support through private donations, fundraising events and grants to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital (SYVCH). Since 1964, the not-for-profit SYVCH provides high quality outpatient surgical services, inpatient care, comprehensive imaging (including MRI, CT, digital mammography, ultrasound, X-ray), on-site laboratory, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, physicians’ specialty clinic and 24/7 emergency services.
