El Encanto Hotel Hires New General Manager

Former Canary Hotel general manager Laura McIver has been appointed to the same position for the El Encanto Hotel, which was closed for renovation in 2006. The fact that El Encanto’s owner since 2004, Orient Express Hotels Ltd., has hired McIver lends credence to its claims that the historic hotel will reopen in March 2013. Orient Express announced that it had secured a construction loan of $45 million last November to continue expansion and renovation of the 92-bungalow resort.
