Ontraport
S.B. Tech Company Among U.S. Fastest Growing
Ontraport, a Santa Barbara-based tech company, has been featured in Inc. magazine’s 31st annual list of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies. The area software company focuses on providing a wide range of services to new businesses to help them get started. Notable companies who have been previously featured on the list include Microsoft, Jamba Juice, Zipcar, Oracle, and Cliff Bar.
According to Briana Galloway, marketing manager at Ontraport, the company’s flagship product is Office Auto Pilot, an online business automation software that delivers essential features like payment processing and email delivery to entrepreneurs.
“We are a one-stop shop for businesses and entrepreneurs to grow their businesses online, and while other companies may offer similar features, we really offer everything you need,” said Galloway.
Ontraport was founded in Santa Barbara in 2006 by CEO Landon Ray and ranks 102 out of 500 private companies in Inc. magazine’s list. To make the cut, companies had to have a minimum of 770 percent in sales growth. The Inc. 500 companies have generated 40,000 jobs in the past three years, and they have a combined revenue of $15.7 billion.
Being featured in the magazine has given the company a lot of positive attention. “Inc. magazine is well-known both to the venture capital community and to consumers. It has gotten us a lot of attention, the phone has really been ringing off the hook,” said Ray. “It has also really helped us gain trust from consumers. When people chose Ontraport, they are choosing what is going to run their whole business.”
“Our growth came at one of the most painful economic times,” said Galloway. “We focused on developing a truly wonderful product and built a solid foundation for continued growth,” she continued, adding that the high ranking is an amazing accomplishment for Ontraport due to the small size of the company.
According to Ray, the long term goal for Ontraport and Office Auto Pilot is to become the leader in the industry. “Today, if you’re a small business and you’re trying to figure out where to go to grow your business, there is no clear answer or leader out there,” explained Ray. “We think that not long into the future, someone will claim that spot, so that is our goal. We want to be the obvious choice for technology platforms for small businesses.”
Ontraport will be holding its first ever Internet Marketing Super Conference October 18 and 19 at the Lobero Theatre. The company also plans to unveil new products that have been in the works for two years at the event.
“Its a great opportunity for small business owners and entrepreneurs to hear from experts on how to create a successful business and marketing strategy,” Galloway said. “It is especially convenient for local businesses because they get to experience a conference that they usually would have to travel elsewhere for.”
The two-day conference will feature notable speakers with experience in marketing and social media, and will focus on topics such as optimizing a workforce and navigating the world of Facebook advertising.
