A 20-person Hot Shot firefighting team from Los Padres National Forest is on their way to the frontlines of Hurricane Sandy this week, joining two teams from the Sequioa National Forest and two teams from the Cleveland National Forest to help clear roads and do other cleanup work in the wake of “Frankenstorm.” They flew out of Ontario, California, on Wednesday morning and could be gone as long as two weeks.
