4/11; 2:30 a.m.; 102 North Hope Avenue: A woman kicked her boyfriend while they were in bed. When the woman briefly left the bedroom, the man barricaded himself in and called police. The woman eventually forced her way in then hit, pinched, and bit the victim. She was arrested for domestic battery.

4/11; 1:45 p.m.; 17 West Canon Perdido Street: An employee at Nordstrom’s department store stole 11 gift cards totaling $1,050.47 from her employer. Loss Prevention was alerted to the thefts when the woman used the gift cards to buy personal items. The suspect admitted to theft to Loss Prevention and the police.

4/11; 8:40 p.m.; 1625 Laguna Street: A man told his girlfriend that he would kill her or have her killed, and punched a wall right next to her head. According to the report, the man was upset that his girlfriend would not have sex with him. He was arrested for making criminal threats and assault.

4/12; 3:45 p.m.; 127 East Carrillo Street: A man who tested positive for heroin was arrested after a drug test per the terms of his probation. When they searched the man, police found a small amount of heroin on his person.

4/12; 9:16 p.m.; 410 South Salinas Street: Police responded to a fight at a liquor store. According to the report, the victim, who was with his son, was pushed twice by the suspect until he punched the suspect in self defense. When police arrived, the suspect was being held down by the store clerk.

4/14; 3:45 p.m.; 600 East Victoria Street: Police investigated a breaking and entering report. When they arrived on the scene, they saw a man putting a ladder into his vehicle. The man claimed that the homeowner was his friend and that he was only looking for his cell phone. Police determined that the man had stolen $4,195 in cash, Xanax, Vicodin, and marijuana from the victim. Furthermore, the victim claimed that the cash was hidden and very few people would know where to find it, but he wasn’t surprised that the suspect would “rip him off.”
