ReStore Reopens

S.B.’s Habitat Moves to New Digs

Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has been a worldwide leader in building affordable housing. The nonprofit, which also helps communities rebuild after disasters, has an offshoot business of ReStores for the recycle-minded public. Santa Barbara’s Habitat ReStore is a treasure trove of used building materials donated by community companies and folks. Finds can range from plumbing fixtures to doors and windows to tiles to lighting — all in myriad styles and for excellent prices. Habitat has moved to new digs and will reopen its doors to the public with much fanfare. Friday, May 10, there will be a ribbon cutting (10am) followed by a 10 percent–off sale (11am-5pm). The sale continues Saturday (11am-5pm), plus there will be a BBQ party (noon-2pm), all at 6860 Cortona Drive. For more info, call (805) 692-2226 or visit
