Carbon Fee and Dividend Before It’s Too Late

Recent news articles about atmospheric carbon dioxide approaching the ‘dire milestone’ of 400 parts per million remind us that we are dangerously near a threshold of catastrophic change to the world as we know it. Fire season in May in Southern California is another first-hand warning.

The time for piecemeal, half-hearted, and voluntary measures to curb global warming is over. A nationwide, market-based carbon fee and dividend as proposed by Citizens Climate Lobby is urgently needed. Our Congress must act before it’s too late.
