HIV Weekend Seminar Draws Top Experts in Field
The Life Group LA will be bringing their groundbreaking weekend seminar series, The Poz Life Weekend, to Santa Barbara the weekend of November 16-17. This workshop focuses on providing education, support and long-term strategic living skills to individuals living with and or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Sunnie Rose, Executive Director of The Life Group LA, the organization that created the seminar states “HIV does not discriminate so the weekend brings together a diverse group of men, women, people of color, gay and heterosexual. We welcome everyone, those infected and those who care for them”
Founded in 2005, The Life Group LA is a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of people both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well being.
The two-day event will feature workshops dealing with issues such as HIV drug treatment options, insurance and public benefits, stress management, complementary therapy, art and music therapy, clinical trials, HIV and Mental Health and HIV disclosure.

Dr. Michael Stuart Gottlieb known for his 1981 identification of (AIDS) as a new disease, and for his clinical research, activism, and philanthropic work associated with HIV/AIDS treatment.
John Sovec MA LMFT, nationally recognized expert on issues of HIV status disclosure, self-care, mindfulness training, and loss and grief.
