Goleta Beach is eroding away —

Sea and sand are causing decay.

Not to mention our own pollutants —

It’s amazing we’re not mutants!

A bit father south is old Hendry’s Beach,

Slough and all — you’d think it’d teach

Us all not to wade, or even be near

That smelly stuff and steer well-clear.

Bring in the ‘dozers — reclaim the land,

Down to East Beach, dig up the sand.

Used to send it to Hawaii —

If you can believe it —

Why not Goleta? — Doin’ our bit.

It’s closer to home — our neighbor to the north.

Local labor, for what its worth.

Staying in the state, within the county —

Creating jobs — all that bounty.

Hey wait a minnit — that ain’t funny,

Just realized we’ve got no money!
