The Santa Barbara Central Library seeks volunteers for our Homework Help program for children Kindergarten through 6th grade. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the school success of local students. Adults or teens interested in this pilot program will need to attend one of two scheduled trainings to prepare. The first trainings will take place on Tuesday, February 25 and Thursday, February 27 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Townley Room of the Santa Barbara Central Library, located at 40 E. Anapamu St.

Volunteers will be needed to assist with children’s reading or homework. Commit to work a minimum of two hours a week after school Monday through Thursday. Volunteers 18 and older will need to complete a background check/livescan. Teen volunteers must be in grade 10+ and maintain at least a B average. Teens will earn community service hours and enhance college applications!

To sign up for the training please call the Children’s Desk at (805) 564-5603 or register online.
