March 19 Event: Solvang “Third Wednesday” Features Food & Wine-Centric “Cash Mob” at “Mystery” Solvang Eatery & Bar
Solvang’s next monthly “Third Wednesday”, to be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, will highlight the edible –and imbibe-able – surprises that Solvang has to offer with a souped-up version of the Solvang Third Wednesday “Cash Mob”, which will descend upon a “mystery” Solvang restaurant.
The March “Cash Mob” gathering is at 5:45 PM, when “Mobbers” are invited to meet in front of the Wildling Museum (1511-B Mission Drive), each bearing $15.00 to spend. The “Cash Mob” will travel together to March’s “mystery” foodie location – one of Solvang’s best-kept culinary secrets, known for its under-the-radar but spot-on wine list, and the royal treatment it affords locals in-the-know. March’s “mystery” merchant will offer “Mobbers” an exclusive Third Wednesday Happy Hour menu, featuring delectable appetizers and wines at special prices.
March’s “Cash Mob” will also feature a free raffle upon the “Mob” gathering, awarding the raffle winner with Five “Solvang Dollars” to spend at the March “mystery” noshing location. “Cash Mob” latecomers who miss the 5:45 PM meeting time, will be able to find the March 19 “mystery” destination on the Solvang Third Wednesday Facebook page.
The Solvang Third Wednesday “Cash Mob” joins the regular, monthly Third Wednesday discounts at merchants and restaurants all over town, as well as Solvang’s weekly Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market, deals at Solvang hotels and as always, the March Third Wednesday will also feature another Solvang Third Wednesday Wine & Beer Walk.
For the first time since its inception, the March 19 “Cash Mob” meeting has been set a bit later – at 5:45 PM – to allow those enjoying the Solvang Third Wednesday Wine & Beer Walk to also partake in the “Cash Mob”. March Wine & Beer Walk tickets may be purchased in advance, through a new on-line ticketing option via First Street Tickets (firststreettickets.com/events/solvang-third-wednesday), where visitors and locals may buy tickets– for themselves, or as gifts – for future Wine & Beer Walks. The resulting tickets, just $20.00 per person, can be redeemed at Wandering Dog Wine Bar (1539-C Mission Drive) the respective day of the event, in exchange for the Wine & Beer Walk logo glass, tasting vouchers and map.
On the Wine & Beer Walk, which runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Third Wednesday-goers get to soak up all of the day’s deals spread throughout the town, by venturing out on the monthly activity which includes wine or beer tastings at five venues of participants’ choice, the aforementioned logo glass and map, guiding tasters to crowd-pleasing Solvang watering holes like Wandering Dog Wine Bar; Sort This Out Cellars; The Good Life, Craft Beer & Wine Cellar; Carivintâs Winery’s Tasting Room; Randy’s Taproom; the Olive House; Casa Cassara Winery & Vineyard’s Tasting Room; Dascomb Cellars; Lions Peak Vineyard’s Tasting Room; Solvang Brewing Company; Viking Garden Cellars; the Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards and Toccata Tasting Rooms; Cali Love Wine; and more.
